Epsilon Innovation Group

Energy Workforce Development Planning Tool (EWDPT)

Assess, plan and close workforce gaps across renewable energy sectors, including biomass, geothermal, hydropower, methane, solar and wind, using quantitative analytics.

Energy workforce gap analysis for capacity development

Energy Workforce Development Planning Tool

Epsilon Innovation Group has developed the Energy Workforce Development Planning Tool (EWDPT), which quantifies energy workforce needs and gaps for renewable energy types such as biomass, geothermal, hydropower, methane, solar and wind.

Energy workforce competency model

The tool includes an energy workforce competency model that helps to:

  • Determine staffing requirements by qualification, discipline and education level
  • Categorize short, medium and long-term workforce requirements based on the projects in the pipeline
  • Develop relevant curricula and training
  • Develop career pathways for a skilled energy workforce

Sample project: Rwanda energy skills needs assessment

Epsilon Innovation Group delivered the EWDPT for Rwanda, covering an energy skills needs assessment, capacity development strategy, competency analysis, gap analysis and profile development. The study covered five renewable energy types (solar PV, methane, biomass, peat and hydropower) and determined energy skills needs across the project value chain through 2035.
